Services to Support Your Child & Family
Every child is unique. We offer a range of compassionate, evidence-based services tailored to meet your family's needs, right here in Renmark and the Riverland.
At Puggle Play Therapy, we believe in meeting children and families where they are. Whether your child is struggling with big emotions, anxiety, behavioural challenges, or life transitions; we have a pathway to support them.
The Process
Puggle Play Therapy follows a thoughtful, structured journey, designed to support your child and your whole family every step of the way.
Intake
Getting to know your family
Before therapy begins, we take time to truly understand your child and your family's story. The intake process includes a detailed parent/carer consultation where we explore your child's history, current challenges, and goals for therapy. This is a safe, unhurried conversation, there are no wrong answers. We'll also walk you through what to expect from the therapy process and answer any questions you have.
- 90-minute parent/carer consultation
- Child history and background discussion
- Goal-setting and therapy planning
- Consent and paperwork completed
Sessions
Your child leads the way
Child-centred play therapy sessions are where the real work happens — though to your child, it simply feels like play. Using toys, art, sand, and creative materials, children express what words can't always capture. Our therapist provides a warm, non-judgmental space where children feel truly safe to process their inner world at their own pace. Sessions run for 45 minutes, with 15 minutes of notes and room re-set included, and are typically held weekly over a 10-week block.
- 60-minute weekly sessions
- Child-led, non-directive approach
- Toys, art, sand, and creative materials
- Typically 10-15 sessions
Parent Consultations
Keeping you in the loop
You are your child's most important support. Throughout the therapy block, we hold regular parent consultations to share insights from sessions, explore your child's progress, and build practical strategies you can use at home. These collaborative conversations help strengthen the parent-child relationship and ensure the gains made in therapy carry into everyday life. Consultations are woven throughout the 10-week period and last for approximately 50 minutes, with 10 minutes for notes.
- 60-minute consultations, every 3-4 weeks
- Progress updates and insights shared
- Practical home strategies discussed
- Collaborative goal review
Endings/New Beginnings
Celebrating growth and moving forward
Endings in play therapy are intentional and meaningful. As therapy draws to a close, we work with your child to acknowledge the journey they've been on, celebrate their growth, and prepare them for life beyond the playroom. A thoughtful ending helps children consolidate what they've learned and builds confidence in their own resilience. We'll also debrief with parents and discuss any ongoing support if needed.
- Planned, child-centred closing sessions
- Celebration of progress and growth
- Final parent debrief and summary
- Referral or continuation planning if needed
